April 2005 saw the completion of the first working Celtic wheel cross in over a millennium.

Working Celtic Cross Born on the 8th April during the funeral of John Paul 11 this working Celtic Cross, belonging to the ancestors of the ancient people of the Atlantic Seaboard, is seen in all its glory for the first time in over 1500 years. Made of ancient Scottish oak and hand carved by one of the worlds rare and skilled craftsmen, this cross reveals the forgotten knowledge of the pre Christian world.	Fleur De Lys The Flower of Life originates in Ancient Egypt and was later adopted by the Royal Families in France and other European Countries as a Regal symbol. It was used at the top of a compass rose to designate North on most early charts for navigation	Symbol of Infinity The Symbol of infinity on this design is impossible to plat in rope and shows no beginning or end based on interweaving figures of eight showing the forces of order and chaos, death and rebirth of the seasons and astronomical cycles that control all life and events on earth	Wheel of cycles and the solar symbol The wheel is carved with the interweaving cycles of change on earth represented by the northern constellation Draconis which identifies the relative position of the sun at night . The wheel is also marked with the ancient wind rose as well as the 36 decans of the ancient Egyptian Astrologers The centre is a hexagram representing the sun and direction of stellar rotation in the circumpolar stars. The wheel is weighted and spins so that it points to the earths centre allowing measurement of the apparent angle of stars and planets.	Measuring the Sun Measuring the sun by reading the angle of the shadow cast, the working wheel cross reveals the ingenuity of our forefathers. This great instrument can also measure the angles of the stars at night to tell the time, day, week, month, season and millenia.

In 2005 the author, Crichton E M Miller, commissioned the construction of a working "Celtic Cross" by a craftsman of exceptional talent in the art of ancient hand carving in woods.

This superb craftsman specialising in traditional methods, Norman Anderson, lives and works in the north of Scotland and specialises in the carving of ancient Clan shields including the ancient motto's and philosophies of those great Scottish families. Norman Anderson set about making the cross shown above in old seasoned Scottish oak that is very hard to work and took over 100 hours to carve by hand.

His interpretations of the cycles of time, order and chaos and the infinity symbols are a deep in insight and evident on the finished instrument.

In ancient pre Christian times, the Celtic or wheel cross was simple in design and would only have markings to measure angles on a wheel that was either fixed to a cross with a long staff and using a plumb line to intersect the degrees so as to establish a fairly accurate measurement, or it would have been a simple rotating wheel weighted at the bottom so as to have the same fixed result.

The answer to why the occult symbolism was carved on the Celtic cross is the result of an attempt to maintain the knowledge by Mason's who were hired by The Roman Catholic Church to design the Medieval Cathedrals.

It was the Emperor Constantine who absorbed this key of ancient knowledge into the Roman Catholic Church when he raised Christianity to become the official State Religion along with many other "Pagan" symbols and practises based on Astrology that had extended world wide during the Palaeolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Ages.

Those who knew its original meaning in the later Dark Ages of Europe were mostly Knight Templar and Craft Masons who kept the knowledge alive in the face of persecution by making the symbols so obscure and occult that only those who knew the deep hidden meaning of the ancient knowledge would be able to understand and keep the messages that fundamentally explain the Laws of Nature.

The Knight Templar were apparently destroyed by the Roman Catholic Church in France in the 14th Century but did not give up all their occult knowledge even under extreme torture including crucifixion and the slow roasting, whilst still alive, of their leader Jacques Du Molay.

Of course, those with deeper understanding know that the the surviving Knights Templar relocated to Scotland and Portugal.

There is considerable evidence of Sacred Geometry demonstrated in Chartres in France , Rennes le Chateau and Lincoln Cathedral in England revealing the use of astronomy in architecture in direct conflict with the Churches teachings, it seems that the Inquisition were unable to discover the true meaning of the Celtic Cross design or even that the cross was the original instrument for inventing and interpreting astrology in the first place.

Astrology was the direct interpretation of the meaning "Logic of the Stars" as opposed to Astronomy which is now the scientific discipline which means "Naming the Stars"

Although Science in general has been in conflict with the Church since the early abuse by the Church of some of Sciences early leaders and the later Renaissance, it is obvious that they are still affected by religion in that they do not wish to offend by questioning this obvious piece of ancient equipment embodied by the cross that explains ancient navigation, astronomy, time keeping and the design and construction of henge's and pyramids on a world wide basis.
